  • Hired out of university to add a more quantitative approach to how this growing online retailer was making a broad range of decisions
  • Performed a range of bespoke, action-driven analyses across a variety of business functions for a couple of years
  • Subsequently drove the development of a mission critical reporting and analytics platform based on learnings from this bespoke work and other challenges faced

Loyalty New Zealand (Fly Buys)

  • Moved to the established analytics team at Loyalty NZ to get a broader perspective of how and why analytics is used
  • Worked as the technical resource in insights consulting teams to deliver a consistent stream of projects to a range of high profile clients in the grocery and insurance industries

Skill building for modern analytics

I took an initial few months “out” to focus fully on deepening and broadening my technical skill set.

  • Built concept analytics (and other) applications and API’s in a range of languages, frameworks and paradigms
  • Re-implemented a range of statistical and machine learning algorithms in python and Julia to gain a deeper understanding of their workings
